John Zimmel of Greenwich was arrested on Sunday July 15 and charged with possession of child pornography following a lengthy investigation by the Greenwich Police Department Special Victims Section and the Southwestern Technical Investigation Unit, said Lt. John Slusarz.

During the execution of a search warrant at Zimmel's home, police found numerous digital storage devices, three of which were discovered by Greenwich Police Department's K-9 Selma, Slusarz said

A forensic examination of the digital storage devices revealed more than 130 videos and over 60 images of children engaged in sexually explicit acts, as well as multiple online "chats," regarding fantasy sex acts with children, he added.

Zimmel was able to post $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 30.
